News From the Helheim Glacier

as the temperatures continue to rise, so will the seas,

at seven inches the norm per century

for two centuries past, but also an alarm,

it continues to sound, but cannot be heard.

politicians all bickering this science is absurd

waste away the next century, the seas continue to rise.

those seven inches will exacerbate into feet

if climate control does not come early in the next hundred sessions

our unemployment will be solved, not by educating for change

but to provide dike builders and gondola drivers

upon our wasted shores.
